Will Disney resorts be open in July?
Walt Disney World Resort officially reopened its parks in July 2020, and it has been steadily hopping back to life ever since! For instance, Disney World phased out on-site temperature screenings for guests on May 16, 2021, and distancing measures across the resort are being gradually reduced.
Is contemporary Monorail open?
Currently, both the Express Monorail and the Resort Monorail are closed at Magic Kingdom, the resorts, and the Transportation and Ticketing Center, as the Monorail is not running. The walkway between Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Contemporary Resort is also closed at this time.
Are Disney resorts reopening?

Can you walk from Magic Kingdom to contemporary?
The walking distance between the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Contemporary Resort is only about half a mile. The walkway between the Contemporary and the Magic Kingdom is entirely paved and well-lit if you happen to be walking at night. Plenty of guests use the walkway, and Disney security cast members are always nearby.
Can you walk from Polynesian to Magic Kingdom?
The new walkway will allow guests at the Polynesian Village Resort to walk to the Magic Kingdom, which will take approximately 25 minutes. We’re definitely excited about this new option to get around some of Disney’s monorail resorts.
